It is small consolation to know I'm not the only one...

I found this video over at Jammie Wearing Fool's blog and I couldn't help but share it. Right now I can't make the video embed properly so just go to 60 Minutes to watch the video.

I can't tell you how close to home this story on 60 Minutes story hits home. Thankfully, as a result of my military service and the retirement pay I receive because of it, my house isn't in danger and I don't need to be visiting the local food pantry. But the stories of these folks being out of work for years in spite of years of experience, education and doing everything right, strikes pretty damm close to home. I hope I'm not still drawing unemployment benefits for 99 months like some of these folks but if that's the way it goes, I'm just going to continue pushing Ogden Clear Headlights and just call myself retired much earlier than I intended.

So watch the video and hear how 60 minutes calls the actual unemployment rate 17% and 22% in California, not the 9.5% that our .gov wants us to believe.
